| Road to The Isles Agricultural Show Camusdarach Saturday 12th June 2010 By kind permission of Andrew & Angela Simpson The Agricultural Show is held every year on the second Saturday of June, the show has always been blessed with good weather in the past.
The Road to the Isles Show was founded by my husband and some of the local populous 15 years ago this year, only missing one year due to the foot & mouth epidemic when all events with animals were cancelled. Since then it has grown from year to year and has become a very popular annual event with tourists and locals alike. Many people revisiting year after year. This show is the first on the Agricultural showing season calander in the Lochaber area. The Agricultural Show is open to animals reared in the area from Knoydart, the Small Isles, Mallaig, Morar, Arisaig. Lochailort, Glenfinnan to Drumsallie Bridge and south through Ardnamurchan to Loch Linnhe and Loch Eil. Judging of the animals starts at 10:00am. The Agricultural Show caters for every age group, there is a thriving handicrafts marquee exhibiting everything from vegetable animals from the local nursery school age children through to knitting, sewing, painting, sketching, photography and carving, delicious home baking is always a well entered class. There will be a refreshment tent and eatery marquee to sit and enjoy a meal, stalls selling fresh prawns, burgers, plants, trees & farming machinery etc. The main ring event is usually something spectacular and not to be missed.
