"Biking It"
Arisaig to Mallaig is an enjoyable day out.
If you choose to follow the old coast road you can be assured of some spectacular views of the coast line.
There are places to stop off and visit along the way, such as Camasdarrach Beach where Local Hero was filmed and the White Sands of Morar.
Or you may choose the cycle path along the new A830 by-pass although not as scenic until you reach Kinsadel, it is still a pleasant ride.
Kinloid to Scamadale is a slightly more challenging ride out.
This is an unadopted road, which means no tar, it is approximatly an 8 mile round trip there and back.
For those of you who like a challenge this is a ride for you.
Visitors have been known to cylcle out to Scammadale then carry on over the mountain to Beasdale complete with bike.
A ride not to be missed.
Nevis Range is further afield for those of you looking for the adrenaline rush why not try out this internationally acclaimed downhill track just outside Fort William.
It is a 2000ft descent, on a 3km track. The track is steep and unforgiving in places and is only recommended for skilled riders.
Top riders descend the course in approximatly 4 minutes.
The downhill track is open to the public daily between 11am - 3pm, from mid May until mid September.
But you are advised to check with Nevis Range for opening times as the weather can have an adverse effect.
